Description

Join us for a drop-in cookout at Freedom Park! We are hosting this FREE cookout to thank everyone who signed our spring petitions, spoke at budget public hearings, or simply supported our messages about the importance of funding Park & Recreation and the City's bicycle program. Now that the budget season is over and our campaigns wrapped up, we want to celebrate with you!

We will have burgers, hot dogs, vegetarian options, chips, cake, and non-alcoholic drinks. Feel free to stop by anytime between 6pm and 8pm - maybe you even use Little Sugar Creek Greenway to get to Freedom Park! We won’t have any formal programming, but we’re happy to talk about any smart growth or transportation topic you are interested in. We would love to hear what you’re thinking.

Come celebrate with us!

Location: The event will be at Freedom Park in the medium shelter next to the Whittington Baseball Field off of Princeton Avenue. The park can be reached by CATS bus route 6 (East Boulevard & Kings Drive), bus route 19 (Park Road & Princeton Ave) and Little Sugar Creek Greenway. Parking is available in several lots around the park.

While we won't have childcare available, you're welcome to bring your kids and supervise them. There is a playground right next to the shelter.

Accessibility: We want this event to be welcoming and accessible for everyone. If you require accommodations due to a disability, please contact Hope at hope.wright@sustaincharlotte.org. 72-hour notice is appreciated to allow us time to ensure we fully meet your needs.
