Description

Join us for an evening focusing on what’s next for building Charlotte's bike lanes and the effort to complete a bike network for people of all ages & abilities! After networking from 6:00-6:30, we will hear a presentation from Charlotte Department of Transportation’s (CDOT) Mobility Planning & Policy Section Manager, Julian Burton. We will learn how future bicycle facilities are chosen, funded, and built. After the presentation(s), attendees will have a chance to ask questions and learn how to get involved with bicycle network planning. The evening will wrap up with more networking. Light fare will be provided and drinks will be available for purchase from Town Brewing.

We will also be joined by members of the Bicycle Advisory Committee, Trips for Kids, and Charlotte Urbanists, each of whom will be more than happy to talk all things bike. Arrive at 6pm or hang back after 7:30pm to talk with them about their good work for people on bikes in our community.

Are you eager to ride your bike to this event? Then come take a group ride with us from First Ward Park (301 E 7th Street) in Uptown to Town Brewing! We will meet at 5pm with a strict ride start time of 5:30pm. The route is just under 2.5 miles and should take about 30 minutes. We will use the Uptown CycleLink protected bike lane and then hop onto Irwin Creek Greenway by Ray’s Splash Planet. We will follow the greenway all the way to Town Brewing. No registration necessary. View the route here.

Location: The event will be at Town Brewing, 800 Grandin Road. The venue can be reached by CATS bus route 5 (W Morehead St) and Stewart Creek Greenway. Parking is available in front of the venue.

While we won't have childcare available, you're welcome to bring your kids and supervise them. Please note this venue is a brewery and may not be the best setting for young children.
