Description

Come learn about new parks, greenways, nature preserves, and recreation centers coming to your neighborhood! You don’t want to miss this opportunity to hear directly from Park & Recreation staff.

Join us beginning at 6:00pm for light fare and social time. From 6:30-6:35, Sustain Charlotte will give a short presentation highlighting the importance of parks and greenways in our community, followed by a 30-minute presentation from Mecklenburg County Park & Recreation staff. The presentation will focus on projects currently in construction, projects that are coming in the next 5 years, and proposed projects in the upcoming budget cycle.

After the presentation, we will open the floor for audience Q&A. This is a perfect time to ask about your favorite park or what new greenspaces your neighborhood can expect in the next 5 years. The Q&A will be followed by more networking and a chance to talk one-on-one with Park & Recreation staff.

Location: The event will be at Town Brewing, 800 Grandin Road. The venue can be reached by CATS bus route 5 (W Morehead St) and Stewart Creek Greenway. Parking is available in front of the venue. While we won't have childcare available, you're welcome to bring your kids and supervise them. Please note this venue is a brewery and may not be the best setting for young children.

Accessibility: We want this event to be welcoming and accessible for everyone. If you require accommodations due to a disability, please contact Hope at hope.wright@sustaincharlotte.org. 72-hour notice is appreciated to allow us time to ensure we fully meet your needs.
